The North Sea Canal, the “Canal to the Future,” has connected Amsterdam with the North Sea for 150 years. Around the canal, the North Sea Canal area came into being, where ndustry, people and nature constantly come together. This involves an ongoing search for the balance between working, living and recreation. At the same time, the region faces all kinds of challenges. Industry has the task of becoming more sustainable, using less energy, and the energy that is used must be sustainable. That is what this Cluster Energy Strategy North Sea Canal Area 2024 (CES NZKG 2024) is about. At the same time, working on a healthy living environment, the housing task, an economically strong and innovative region and the water task (climate adaptation, availability and quality) are also of great importance in the North Sea Canal Area. The industry in the North Sea Canal Area is taking up this challenge and through this Cluster Energy Strategy North Sea Canal Area shows how an important contribution can be made to the success of the energy transition. The CES NZKG 2024 examines what industry needs in order to become more sustainable. It focuses on the energy demand (electricity, hydrogen, (green) gas), the energy supply and the development of the infrastructure to move the energy.
