The CES 3.0 of the Scheldt-Delta region describes the strategy that the Dutch part of the industrial cluster wants to implement to achieve the CO2 reduction climate goals and gives the overview of the infrastructure to be developed to facilitate this. In addition, impact analyses of the various projects and developments have been calculated on the energy system, using the so-called Regional Net Zero Model. This model was developed by ISPT, Quo Mare and SDR. The CES 3.0 is a representation of multimodal CO2 reduction: multiple technologies and programs are needed to complement each other to ensure that the Scheldt-Delta region can operate climate neutrally by 2050. In addition, this CES 3.0 confirms the region's position as a future exporter of CO2-free electrons and molecules to other clusters in the Netherlands and abroad. The (international) infrastructure will partly be developed to meet the energy demand from other regions as well, thus making this region to be seen as an energy exporter.
